modified MPX mags

At 5280 they have 30 round MPX magazines for sale that they will "permanently modify" before they sell them. I asked what the modification would consist of. A pin? A limiter block? They would tell me at all what they intended to do. They just kept repeating that they'd "permanently modify" them. Given these mags are polymer I was concerned that they might be damaged in the process. Does anyone know what they'll do to them? Why wouldn't they tell me in the first place?

Because they don't modify them and just take them apart.....

The few I ended up with (not MPX) were "permanently modified" with some sort of epoxy resin bumper type thingy that they molded onto the floor plate retainer. Not sure how they'd do the MPX mags though. I've seen some CZ Scorpion mags that were modified by drilling a hole and inserting a crappy aluminum rivet to limit the follower travel.

I know there is a block available to limit rounds. I've also heard about them being riveted.

At 70 bucks a mag, screw you for ruining them.

I'm okay with a bumper but I really don't want them to put a rivet in there. For the $70 they should at least tell you what they're going to do.

It is river, they did that with my Evo mags when I bought my Evo from them

Nothing personal against you
Unless they know you as a regular, or personally. Why would they ot any shop tell you what they do?

Well for that matter, if I was just trying to "expose" them, why wouldn't I just spend the $70 to just find out what they're up to? I feel like it's totally reasonable to know, as the customer, what's happening before I make a purchase. If what the modification is might, in my opinion, alter the performance of or degrade the product I don't want to buy it.

I've purchased a couple of AK's from them and this is how they modified the mags that came with them (the crappy rivet that is).

I've also heard them give that repeated answer to customers.
