Gun Trust

I'm looking for advice in setting up a gun trust. I understand that it provides some legal protections and can make it possible to avoid some fees when/if you want to purchase Title II items. However, the more I read about them, the more I'm not sure what is the best route or even if I need one at all. I'm just a regular guy who isn't looking to become a dealer or do anything out of the ordinary. However, I also understand that you don't have a problem until you have one and, like most situations involving firearms, the situation will likely be serious. In the vein of an ounce of prevention, etc, etc. here are my questions:

1. If you have one, why did you get it?
2. Who did you use to set it up?
3. Has anyone used the online services to set one up and what was their experience?
4. What lesson(s) did you learn and what advice can you give to do/not do?
5. What did it cost and do you consider the cost reasonable for what you got?

There are no "fees' you 'll avoid paying. Having a trust allows others on the trust to be in possession of NFA items, without you being present. I want to borrow one of your Suppressors. On the trust No Problem. Be put on the trust, No Problem. You don't have a trust / Filed as an individual. PROBLEM.

If you're concerned about who gets what when you die. That's No problem without a trust. If they're in the will NFA items can be transferred to family member via a Form 5

Now when 41 takes effect You will need to provide fingerprint card and Photo (passport size) with each application.

There's rumor floating around the ATF is going to squash e-file form 1's after 7/16. Forcing ALL applications to be paper filed AND provide FP card & photo with each application. Unlike the first revision where prints & photo needed to be on file and be valid for a 2 year period.

I forgot what date, thought it was 90 from enactment, looks like 180 from enactment, so July is correct.

Contact NFATrustGuy. I've had a trust for years, but recently hired him to revise it (basically delete the original trust and re-write it with his own format). I had paid a lawyer to draw up my first trust, and I won't badmouth her, but there's really no comparison. Rod (NFATrustGuy) provided a much more usable, detailed and comprehensive trust. Go to him first.
