Greetings from Grand Junction
I recently moved to Grand Junction from the DC area and am looking for a place to shoot. I used to be an active high power competitor but haven't been doing much of that lately. My eyesight is getting worse and it's no fun knowing that you could shoot better if you could just see the $%@ target again. Since CMP is allowing optics I figured I'd give it another try. I've been checking the web sites for local clubs and I'm not quite sure where to call home. The club at Rifle seems to have an active HP program but it's a bit far if I just want to get some practice time. Orchard Mesa seems like a good option but they don't appear to have much activity. Driving around I came across what I now know is the William Jarvis range but other than an IDPA and a SASS site I can't find much mention of it. that looks to me like a 1000yd range on the Google satellite photos so I have to believe someone's using it.
Any local shooters care to shed some light on the subject?
