    Default Mag AR lowers

Anybody have a MAG lower? They are supposed to be a magnesium alloy and lighter than an aluminum lower. Endurance? Worth the extra $20 over a spikes or just a gimick?

(Sorry if this is covered somewhere, tapatalk is giving me fits..)

I had one. Lighter than a regular lower. Ran fine. Only flaw was that the hole for the mag release button was too small. Used a bench grinder on the mag release button to make it fit, since that was the smaller/cheaper/easier to mod part.

Could be worthwhile for a lightweight build. I sold mine because my lightweight gun, while nice, never went to the range.

They have less "flex' than a polymer lower. I missed out when they were offered at $69 something a pop. Didn't last more then a week.

LGS list them on their site for not much more than another lgs has a spikes for.

They scare me. There is some stuff online where a couple of them broke around the take down pin. Not sure if it was just an anomaly or whatever but just haven't wanted to take a chance on one. They are really light weight though.

It you want to try one out I'm fairly certain they have them at Ark Tactical for around $70.

You might call them to verify that price. Just in case I'm wrong.
