Default Putting a deck on the house

We going to build a new deck, and a fairly good sized one. 700SF or so. I'm having a hard time finding anyone willing to come up here to do it. Some will, but for $50-$60 a square foot which is nuts IMO. This is going to be a simple deck project - two rectangles, railing and stairs, all one level, no ladder work at all.

Anyone do decks or know someone who does who will come to mid-Gilpin County for the job? I will provide burgers, dogs, chicken, soft drinks, etc. for lunch every day if that sweetens the deal. And cash is king of course.

ETA: I may end up doing it myself, but my time is limited and I'd like to have it done before New Years. LOL

Yeah, if I had the cash then I would have, believe me.

I’ve been interested in adding a simple platform deck to my house, but have been pretty shocked at the quoted cost.

I had a new deck built a couple of years ago through a great landscaping company as part of an overhaul of the back yard.
They subbed it out to a carpenter, who was timely, professional, and part artist.
When I asked him how he found the job, he said he just looked for someone that wanted a carpenter.
Maybe Craigslist (I know you have to screen the responses), HomeAdvisor, or a posting in the local stores. I tried calling the number of the carpenter who did ours, but he has moved to another state.

Everything is effin' expensive right now.

I saw the quote a friend got for a 6' privacy fence, and he was quoted $28/ft.

Anyone who swings a hammer is booked up and can pretty much get what they want. I actually like building decks but can't find any subs worth a damn so I'm busy sheetrocking and painting.

If it keeps being so slow, I'm about to be your sub.

That’s awesome. I’ve only been able to get one fence person to even look at my fence or give me an estimate. My estimate was for about $40 a foot.

I’m hoping things might slow down in September or October when school starts back up and the weather cools down. If not then maybe Irving would like to do about $10K worth of fence for me.
