Need a favor from one of you geeky types

And by geeky, I mean someone with more computer smarts than myself.

I want ant to take my forum photo (Chester Cheetah) and turn it into a black and white image in some sort of vector format in black and white. Not gray scale as I'm looking at trying to have it laser engraved on something and was told gray scale won't turn out very good.

If anyone is bored and wants to help me out, that would be awesome.

Something like that. That one appears to be gray scale though. I think I need something that's a bit more like line art for it to turn out right. Also, if I could get the exact image in my photo that would be great.

I didn't know that. I guess I assumed there was a program for converting them or something. Guess my hopes might be dashed.

Vector images are infinitely expandable without quality loss. Once you put it into a flat file, you lose that.

If size is similar, you might be able to convert OK. But if it isn't, like a small avatar to a HQ vecor image it won't work well.

Other direction works great. But it's one way.

Thanks. That image is exactly what I'm looking for. Hopefully the jpg format will turn out good enough. I'm thinking it will. I think if the image had a lot of small detail then the vector format might be more important.
