Wow Bob! 58 years ago would be '58 (1958 that is). I guess I never asked you how long you served. Did you serve during the Korean War? (For those who don't know, the U.S. Officially went to war in Korea on June 25, 1950 and officially ended on July 27, 1953 when an armistice was signed).
Thanks for your service and doing what needed to be done. My period of service was a cake walk compared to serving in the era you served in.

Thomas, I went in after the Korean "conflict" in 1955. Was peacetime Army and no conflicts for me. We had a lot of equipment issued to us that was leftovers for the Korean fight. I only served 2 years, 9 months and 9 days. Got out while due to the numerous cuts being made in numbers of active troops. As the old saying goes, "wouldn't sell that experience for a million dollars but wouldn't give a plug nickel for another one just like it". On my first civilian job after discharge, I couldn't believe coworkers were telling their boss NO to something they were TOLD to do. Work ethics and normal discipline have since really gone down the sewer. Sad!!
THANKS to all those thanking me for my service. I'm just glad to feel like I have given a couple years to/for my United States of America.
Thank you Bob for signing that check. Even short periods of service have their risks, and rewards. We are thankful for your patriotism

It's a measure of the civility in this country that no ones seems to fear constantly pissing off the people who own lots of guns.
Thank you for your service Sir

Thank you for your service regardless of it was peacetime or not, I truly do appreciate your service.
You're a good man, Bob. Here's to
many more years!
Obviously not a golfer.
Than you for your service.
Sometimes people trip and fall down stairs.
Sometimes assholes push people down stairs.
That doesn't mean "stairs are bad" nor does it make someone who pushes someone down the stairs any less of an asshole.
