This is why I've been trying to get the wife into a women's firearms class. She's interested but I need more of her female friends to want to join her so she doesn't feel alone in it, at least for the first class. She knows the basics but there's some things that are best when you remove the S/O from the teaching process, IMO.

Not just my wife. It seems the first thing EVERYONE forgets about is the muzzle. I've got the fam trained well. If I have a rile out in the kitchen finger focking it, my wife and kids will always say something like "coming through" in reference to needing to walk past the muzzle.

I'm usually nice the first two times I explain muzzle sweep. First time is the initial "always point your muzzle in a safe direction", then the second time it's a firm but friendly reminder, the third time it's...

And after I get the look the Lieutenant gives, I explain how focking serious this shit is. One more time and I take the gun permanently and will never take then shooting again. That's never happened, yet.

The good news is that I started my kids early and it's fairly instinctual now.

My dad asks me to help my mom on the trap range whenever we're together because she gets upset when he corrects her. My aunt and uncle are the same.

I believe formal women's courses are the ticket.

Same problem for me, doesn't matter if it's at the range or anything else. Like a few weeks ago having the conversation again that if a recipe calls for buttermilk you can not just sub in whole milk without some additional modification. Reminding her of the time a year ago when her biscuits came out flat and dense didn't help me much either. The physics involved of combining acids and alkalines in equal proportions to create the correct amount of CO2 also didn't help either of us it seems.

Mine uses lemon juice and or vinegar to make buttermilk. She also listens about gun stuff. Let the bidding begin.

Well, got a text from her saying they're done shooting. Obviously nothing went wrong, thank God, and she even said she tried to collect as much brass as she could for me. Hmmmm....that's got to be an "I'm sorry" in her sick, twisted way.

Probably not. Could be a big middle finger and an "I told you so"....

My gf likes to tell me all her problems... that she can't solve.. I offer a solution and get yelled at for not understanding she 'doesn't want a solution, just for me to listen'.. Which I take to mean 'that's fucking simple and works, you're correct but I'll never admit that I didn't think of that'...

Wait to be asked after offering nicely.

There are some things that husbands should not do for their wives. Mine still can't drive a standard transmission and won't till she finds someone who will teach her. I love my wife and have sworn to promote the domestic tranquility.

To be fair, there are plenty of things she has tried to teach me that I have no patience to sit through.
