Default Canceling TV service this Month. Looking for alternatives.

I've had Dish TV for over four years and am looking to cancel. I won't owe anything except my last monthly bill, and I have to return the equipment.
For the past year we've had the lowest cost package and pay $35/Month.
Looking to get something along the lines of WiFi in the house through our cell carrier (T-Mobile) and Kodi, or Apple TV.
We don't watch much TV as it is except for News, Kids programs, History Channel, local stations, and Films.
I'm definitely not tech savvy. Please advise what some good options are.

There is a long detailed thread around here somewhere that has a ton of the info you are looking for.

Maybe one of the search guru's will fetch it back.

I'm on the process of doing the same...tested Winegard HD over the air antenna(amped version). It finds over 50 channels, 25% are Spanish language. I figure 25 usable channels...lots of kids programming. I plan to add Sling TV streaming service for $20 month to get the cable/sat channels we watch the most. It will only stream to 1 tv at a time per account, but the Roku stick supports it natively.

There is a lot of over the air TV in Denver metro, some of it quite good. Inexpensive broadband is more of a challenge.

Amazon prime/ fire stick or whatever it's called? Nice to have two day shipping with the prime account.

How many TVs do you plan to watch programming on? If its just one, get an off air over the air antenna to get locals for news. Netflix or amazon prime for all the other stuff.

If you don't mind watching a day or two later Hulu works pretty good. We had that an antenna, prime, and netflix and they worked out great.

    There are so many choices.
I guess getting WiFi set up would be the first step.
