Wow, slam fire full auto = prison? WTF.

No info if it was the guy who borrowed or some other asshat that rolled on him. That's part of the travesty. That another gun owner, possibly someone that either ran their own loads or some crap .223 junk with soft primers, turned on this guy.

“By this time, the weapon had been in the hands of the ATF for four
months. What caused the functional change in the weapon to fire as it had not done
before is unknown, although the ATF agent did acknowledge that the change in the
outcome from the October test resulted from a change to ‘softer primer’
    ammunition,” the appellate documents said.

Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."

no kidding. Maybe they have so many cases involving pot/drug-violations (despite the legality? You know, where people are doing things that go beyond the new laws?) that they don't have time/space to take on low-level crimes like these? I know that in some big cities, the case overload is beyond comprehension, like 30,000 cases per year, but only 50 judges or something. If the perps don't make an easy, immediate plea, the DA allows their bluff and lets them go.

Yea fuck that. Some cops really do suck, don't get me wrong I have dealt with some that are REAL men and act accordingly. Others not so much. I had about 1200$ worth of Alpine in the trunk of my Impala, went out of town, left the car in the driveway (nice neighborhood) come back to wires hanging out of my trunk. Had to be someone who knew me, called cops gave them all serial number, receipts and so on (meticulous records kept). Found out they didnt even run a check at the local pawn shops. Had to do it for them.

Sorry to hear about your situation, but did you consider that the police may have bigger things to worry about than the theft of some guy's car audio? That exact scenario probably happens 50 times a day in Denver, meanwhile, they have murderers and rapists to catch.

Haha no way. Not where I live, I listen to the scanner. Its somebody had there doorbell ring and there was no one at the door can you come check it out? a kid kicked a sprinkler head can you come check it out? Then the other 85% they are trying to hand out chicken shit traffic tickets. yes there are Drug units and Detectives. Hasn't been a murder in my town since I dont know how long.

I know its different in other cities. Was in Aurora before, that scanner was interesting to listen to"we have a body in a dryer at the laundromat" "some body walked into walgreens and sprayed with a mac" but not here. Mostly drugs but they have cops specifically for that. The regular beat cops and the ones I'm talking about. I'm not generalizing either, just speaking my experience of 25 years living around here.

Boulder County Sheriffs on the other hand are very professional, reasonable people as far as my experiences have been. Longmont PD not quite the same. I have meet some very good police, have also dealt with the slobish hacks. I'm sure its no different anywhere except probably a lot worse.
I have respect for them, its a thankless job, the ones who do it right my hats off but I am not okay with being treated like a money sponge the city can wring out anytime it feels like it because of some trumped up traffic ticket written to meet a quota.
