    Default Bad Primers?

No one wants to buy them, so now what? I bought 2000 Remington No. 1 1/2 Small Pistol Primers, loaded 100 and had about 10% FTF on first strike. They fired on second strike though. BTW- no mods to my gun. I have had absolutly ZERO FTF's with Federal and Winchester. Do I take them back to where I purchased them? Or do I contact Remington? Tried to sell them, but no takers unless I pratically give them away. Any suggestions?

And if there are any of you that want to buy-make me an offer.

    Seat them deeper.

yep. That's what I thought too.

What Hoser and I are referring to is possible high primers. They may not be seating as easy as the Win or Fed primers and you are leaving them not fully seated. If they are consistantly going off on the second strike, they are high primers. My policy is to crush those F'n things home unless they are Federals.

    ??

I've never used Federal primers before, and haven't heard anything pro or neg about them either.

Why wouldn't you want to "crush those F'n things" if they are Federal primers?

I suppose I will try seating them deeper, but I think I will only use them as practice rounds and not for competing. Thanks guys.

Are you sure you don't want to buy them?

I've found Fed small pistol primers to be very soft, softer than any other primer. If I crush them home, it's possible to put the cup too close to the anvil and my glock strikers can pierce the primer when it fires. If I seat them .005 below the edge, they pop off and won't pierce. So, I don't need to crush the fed primers home as they are soft and seat very easy.

This is far from a draw back. It means I can just fly on the reloader and not have to worry about the primers, and I know they will go pop when they are struck.
