    Default Rose replaces Johnson?

Axl Rose? And so ends AC/DC, one of the few tried and true actual no fuckin around just play seriously loud awesome rock n roll music bands still around. Oh yeah, IMHO.

(CNN)Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose will be joining AC/DC for its "Rock or Bust" world tour -- including rescheduled U.S. dates.

Rose is replacing AC/DC singer Brian Johnson, according to a statement posted Saturday on the band's website. Johnson had been advised by doctors in March "to stop touring immediately or risk total hearing loss."

"We understand, respect and support Brian's decision to...save his hearing," said the statement. The band also thanked him for his contributions and dedication to their music throughout the years.
Johnson joined AC/DC in 1980, after the death of original singer Bon Scott. Their first album together, "Back in Black" became AC/DC's biggest selling record and is considered a hard rock classic.
Rose, who has fronted Guns N' Roses since 1985, will tour this summer with the reunited band that includes former members Slash and Duff McKagan.
AC/DC's tour with Axl Rose is set to begin May 7 in Lisbon Portugal. Following a European run with the band through June 12, Rose will then go back to the Guns N' Roses "Not in This Lifetime" summer stadium tour.
The band says to expect an announcement soon on rescheduling the 10 U.S. dates for AC/DC that will include Rose at the microphone.

That is sad, Brian Johnson was one of the few replacement frontmen that actually worked as well or better than the original. AC/DC should have just hung it up rather than dilute the band. As a PS I can understand his doctors concern AC/DC is probably the loudest band I have ever seen. I could not hear over the ringing for 3 days.

I'm not a musician, so I guess I can't relate to wanting to keep performing forever. I just think that, once I attained fabulous wealth, I'd want to retire and just fade into the background and enjoy life and the comfort of having big bucks. But I'd also want to live reasonably modest, no huge mansions, servants and private jets, or rock star lifestyle.

^^^^ Angus was the one that refused to hang it up, he wants to keep going, "Rock or Bust" I guess. And totally agree they play insanely loud. Went to the Pepsi Center a few years back and had muffled hearing for the next day.

I have to wonder if they've thought all of the scenarios though, here. Have they hired someone to frogmarch that screaming diva Axl Rose back on stage when he throws his colossal tantrums or screams his voice away after 2 songs?

Or is this going to be reminiscent of the "girlfriend tour" of Van Halen, with David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar both vying for the adoration of the fans?

I just can't imagine AC/DC would do this.
