Looks like the finger stop can be slid out, or completely removed. I bet someone could make you a finger stop with an extended arm on it so it actually rests just past the edge of the hand guard.

Correct, the finger stop is just a keymod mount. There was one more slot forward, but I didn't feel right asking them to move it if I wasn't ready to make the purchase right then.

As for the extended stop, I've got a couple bars of 6061 left over from an old project and could always mill something up, but have never been a fan of anything sticking out past the end of the handguard (other than barrel/supressor) - even having my surefire sticking out an inch past the rail bugs me a little...

Its just a barrel change and a float tube change.

There are a mess of people over on the Sig forum that have been waiting for the K...either as a complete upper or just the barrel and forearm. Nothing has been released by Sig to date. No timeframe either.

The shop I was in had 5 of the K models in stock, and mentioned that while the only difference was the barrel and tube/handguard, there was no intel on when (or if) Sig would be selling the barrel/tube parts individually.

If I had a timeline/expected pricing on those it would almost be a no-brainer, particularly as the K model was about $150 cheaper...

I'd personally just take it all the way off, but I don't have the operational experience to claim that's a good idea.

I believe they're factory models direct from Sig, and are at the fixed price that Sig requires. Was told they just got these in within the last month...

ETA: Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure they're factory (but can confirm tomorrow). If you check out the pic I posted, you can see there's a difference in the length of the side rails. They both extend to the same length/position, but the K model side-rails are actually about an inch shorter in length...

Mine started out life (thanks Noah) as the pistol version with the folding Sig Arm Brace. Form 1 and added a collapsing stock. Sent the upper out to be cut down to K length and got it back yesterday. I am more than pleased. Super cool toy.

I ran a mag through it before I left the house. It brought a smile to my face. Need to upgrade the trigger and then Ill be done.
