Default Looking fo budget 308 bullets

So, a while ago I purchased a bunch of 150 gr 308 bullets from Xtreme bullets.

    http://www.xtremebullets.com/308-150...50fp-b0500.htm

    Great deal, about 10c x bullet, 500 for $51!!!

Unfortunately, as I later found out, they are meant for 30-30, and at 308 velocities shred the thin jacket and are pathetically inaccurate.

My M1A shoots<than 1 MOA with Sierra Matchking 175 gr, so it is neither the rifle nor the shooter.

The Xtreme bullets will maybe hold 5-6 MOA even cutting down the powder charge to the minimum listed, 40gr of IMR 2831.
Needles to say, being the rifle a semi, it needs to be able to cycle the action, so I can only go down in charge so much.

Of course, I know we are comparing potatoes to apples, but could anybody suggest a bullet source that will hold within 2MOA without doubling my $ per bullet?

The 147's from Wideners go on sale pretty regularly.

That depends on your barrel. Supposedly the SMK's are the shit when it comes to 308 bullets. For some maybe.
    For me the 168 hornady's smoked the SMK's. 20" 1:12 LTR.

I'd be more concerned about accuracy than price.

On my bolt 308 I am.
This is a 16" m1a and, being realistic about accuracy expectations, I am trying to find a happy medium.

American reloading has 25% off right now. Not sure what 308 billers they have, but it's worth checking out

    EDIT: code is "FATHERSDAY"

    I'll second the notion - https://www.wideners.com/reloading-s...ts/308-bullets

I've gone through a couple different versions of bulk M80 bullets (never tried pulls), both have been just fine out to 400 yards (not that they couldn't reach out further, just never tried that combo beyond 400). I like H4895. Even won a beer bet with BobbyF using that combo and irons once.

Yeah, I'd rather have 168's too, but for the price, I'll blast these.
