That might be because it is sometimes hard to find local NFA items that are not in a shop at full or 'sale price'. The idea is not a bad one. I know that several times when I have been in the purchase mode, there are few places to look outside a shop that I trust. This forum is a place I put more trust in when it comes to guns than any other. A few NFA items pop up in the trader section but it does not seem to be encouraged (not to say it is necessarily dis-couraged). What the op is proposing 'may' be a good path forward. To address the mods issues, maybe make the entry level a bit harder (more posts, a page of good reviews, etc). This is also a place that common knowledge can be 'sticky-ed' to answer common questions. Maybe as a subset of the current NFA thread. The fact is NFA is still considered 'exotic' to most and that includes gun owners. It obviously does not need to be or IMO should be. The more people we get into it the more power we have to fight ATF rules that don't make sense. An NFA buying section would make them more accessible to the 'old pros' and newbies at the same time. That benefits us all. I was out at GGC a few weeks ago. Old guy was shooting some reload workups. I get out my 338 Lapua, he takes one look and he says 'I'll be out of here in a minute'. He had no clue about NFA. We started talking and when he saw that my 'big bore' was quieter than his .223 he was amazed and said he was very interested in getting his own but was worried about the price. An NFA sales area could be just what he needs to get started. Recently there was a 30 cal suppressor on here for $400. A pretty big discount for most suppressors in that caliber. If we can get more of that going............

This statement and those before it kinda goes towards my point. There should probably be a distinct section for NFA for that reason.

Until there's clarity from a seller (in general) how they want to sell a USED NFA ITEM. There's going to be items still for sale.

The business' selling NFA items are in the INDUSTRY PARTNERS SECTION. Not too hard to browse their threads to see what's for sale.

How many USED NFA items have been posted in the last year? Unless it's been double digits, with SOLD PLEASE DELETE comments, why bother?

And frankly that is the last place I would go looking for nfa items.
