Interesting product, looks kinda cool, and I love BCM and all. But when I read the email, my initial gut reaction was "that can't be a 1911 if it's 9mm".

Do you mean "lock" or release? You should be able to lock with even a stubby thumb. You should be releasing with your off hand by using an overhand slingshot or grab/push with strong hand.
