Not like inspections are common, but if they flag one because the address isn't updated and you claim "it was written on the back" I'd hazard they call it a violation. So, I guess that would entail calling them to verify the DL details to ensure it is updated. (still a pain, since that is voicemail and callback)
Not a big issue with the ATF either. I've had this conversation with current and retired agents and also again at an NSSF training seminar. 20 years ago it was an issue. With computer records as they are, it's not as big an issue with ATF. Side note, CBI told me they wouldn't bump a BGC for address.

It's supposed to match, but it's just not a big issue with modern computerized records. Basically, they already know who and where you are. Be paranoid. Especially you Foxtrot.
