Slightly related, while grabbing the Canik was interesting watch a guy from out of state get told no, no buying a gun there unless it's to be shipped to an FFL back in his state. Appeared to be trying to buy a Five-Seven in person from someone local.

Yep. State laws differ, but generally only long guns can be sold to someone who lives out of state. No handguns. You would have to ship a handgun to an FFL, who can receive and transfer it in that customer's state.
