Oh, and the CTIS was a total PITA. All the ones we had were constantly being deadlined because of CTIS problems. Nothing like driving down the Autobahn at 45 mph and all of a sudden your tires want to go to 5 psi.

I have to admit, this is pretty full of awesomeness. Practicality factor....well that might be a good debate.

With 155 gallons of fuel (with all nine 5 gallon jerry cans), I would still question 2000 mile range, but I have been surprised before.

40K, I think this is a pretty good bargain considering what my Keystone Outback camper cost, but I would not use this as a bug out vehicle.

The camper looks like a Trailmanor 2720SL. I have been searching for a used one. They are not cheap new.

I had a military CUCV blazer with a stereo system. Extra insulation was added to help with noise reduction. Even at max volume there were times I couldn't hear the radio at all.

The video says 1) the jerry cans are for water, not fuel, and 2) they have taken care to sound-shield the motor so it's not as loud as the usual military system. I still want to know what magic they have to get the claimed range from 110 gallons.

Wonder what you could pick up an M820 expando-van for and outfit?

The truck according to Google gets 10 mpg and comes with either 81 gallon single tank or 139 gallon dual tanks. The guy added an additional 110 gallon tank

It sounds like they added a 110 gal tank. So if the teuck has 90 gal tanks (?) then with 200 gals toal it's only 10mpg.

And that M1009 was not a true "military vehicle" but was a commercial Blazer that had been modified for military use. IOW it was considerably more luxurious and comfortable than a vehicle like the M900 series which was designed from the ground up to go to the military.
