I look at it as a big temporary gun museum, some incredible stuff and good people. Well worth the parking mess and traffic.

Just got home, it wasn't that busy. I looked at a ton of cool guns and learned a few things.

My friend did pretty well, sold 14 guns in the last 2 days plus a bunch of other stuff. I saw a lot of high prices for items that simply were not worth it.

An example, a vendor had a couple of Browning Hi Powers that I was very interested in, a nice but not perfect T series and an FN from the 50s with the internal extractor marked at $1500 each. There was no box, no papers, no Browning leather case, one magazine, both guns had nicks and light scratches. The true value of the T Series was under $1000, the circa 50s maybe a little over $1000. This vendor is going to take both guns home tomorrow, I didn't even make an offer.

A lot of vendors are going to go home with the same guns they showed up with, they're asking way too much money. They don't understand that someone will go on Gun Broker and buy the same thing at 1/2 to 2/3 their asking price.

There are some great guns to look at at the Collector's show. Seldom any good deals to buy however.

I was really surprised how busy this was Saturday. Seemed turnout was small compared to years past. Also seemed some of the LGS were a no show as well.

It was strange as I only heard about the show that the day I posted this tread.

I don't recall there being very many LGS ever at the Collector's show. Few carry items that fit in the criteria.

I had a good time but don't recommend going on Sunday. About 20% of the exhibitors were leaving by noon. I went looking for S&W grips for a 1949 K38 and found a set for a reasonable price, also found an original rear peep site for a Mossberg 42B military trainer. None of those items seem to ever turn up at the Tanner beef jerky show.
