Default Need help with inherited item

My father died a few years back and my mother just moved out of the family home this spring. My dad was very nostalgic for the cowboy and mountain men. I went back to retrieve some items and besides his guns I inherited a prison made horse hair bridle.

I need help with who I can go to have it appraised and help selling it. I am hoping some of you who have equine related hobbies or have family members into this can help me find a new home for this. I do know that lesser quality bridles were on display in a museum in Wyoming that I took my parents to years ago and they commented ours was so much nicer.

Here are a couple of pics. I know they can sell for $2000-3000 depending on quality and how much the color has faded.

Do you have any documentation that reflects when and where it was made? Someone who can attest to seeing it purchased?

Talk to your accountant as see if it's worth while to donate to the museum?

I bought a prison horse hair belt from the Colorado Hat company in Estes Park a number of years ago and seem to recall that they carried tack. They may be a good source to start with. Interesting video on one made in 1910 with a crazy story tied to it.

Will do Marine24. I have other wall hangers. This is something you need to keep out of UV light or the colors will fade.
