Went to Shadow Mountain Reservoir today. Started out foggy going over Berthoud Pass.
Very low cloud ceiling and rained all day.
Kid was a trooper and we kayaked for a few hours anyway.
Here is a deer on one of the islands. Very reddish coat. Kid paddled right up to the shore to stare at it for a bit while I paddled off to look at what I thought might be a bear, but turned out to be a stump.
I love how much moisture there is on the Western slope. Felt like the way I picture Alaska.
I think this is actually Shadow Mountain. The contrast in the greens was particularly striking this time of year.
Still lots of snow on the higher peaks.
