    That is a fine example of the North American big game management method. Elk will again become plains animals, but I would guess some elk populations will still inhabit high elevation tundra and spruce-fir forests.

    Dan Flores is always pitching for it when he does podcast interviews.

    EDIT: That reminds me that I need to read Coyote America by Dan Flores and America Before by Graham Hancock. Ordered just now.

    On hwy 109 right between Genoa and Hugo. That picture was taken facing straight West.

    I have seen elk out as far east as Las Animas area. Is surprising to see them out that far from the mountains.

    I'm under the impression that before we hunted most of our big game to extinction, will share the plains with bison and other grazers. So we shouldn't be surprised, but I still am every time.
