    Are both vids working?

In the first one the lake is about 50yds across and the second one is about 60yds.

When either bull stopped eating and stared across the lake, it made you wonder if 50-60yds of lake was enough cushion to exit calmly if needed.

The cow seemed to not care we were there.

First video there were about 20 people watching the bull, second video was just us and moose for about 30mins until a few hikers came by. Difference between a Sunday afternoon and a Tuesday afternoon.

Of the 7 days spread over two trips we saw moose on 3 different days. Reba and I came across two cows grazing a meadow on the hike to Lake Agnes.

Very cool moose and owl pics.

I always pictured/picture moose as brown, but those sure look black.

In the spring to mid summer they will be brown mixed with hoary white patches of hair as they are shedding. By late summer into the rut they wear a sleek black coat--dark as night. That's the danger driving in moose country because they often step from the trees into the road at night and they can be very hard to see even in the headlights. And moose seldom look before they cross the road because they think they're the biggest critters around.

I’ve had an endangered North American Burying Beetle hanging out in my mud room or on me since late last night, pretty cool looking little buggers.

    Thanks, ChickNorris.

About 5 years ago I removed several hundred trees to install a new septic tank and leach field. We replanted in low grass and native flowers for hummingbirds. It's gotten better and this year it really was awesome. The hummers are active on the penstemons, agastache and many others. The red flower in the photo of the buck deer is Penstemon barbatus, a perpetual nectar machine. Not a minute goes by without the birds using and fighting over the flowers. Here's some pics from 2017 and 2019:

Spotted a fox on the nightvision camera last night. Can't figure out how to post the video here.

'Unless a law-abiding individual has a firearm for his or her own defense, the police typically arrive after it is too late. With rigor mortis setting in, they mark and bag the evidence, interview bystanders, and draw a chalk outline on the ground' - Judge Benitez , 2019, Duncan v. Becerra.

'One of the ordinary modes by which Tyrants accomplish their purpose without resistance is by disarming the people and making it an offense to keep arms.' Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story, 1840.
