FINALLY!
I?ve been wanting to see a Gila monster in the wild since I moved here. Some of the people I?ve talked to here have lived in the area most of their lives and claim to have never seen one, I?m guessing they don?t get out much.

The ex done gone all Naked and Afraid on me. She found a rattler sunning itself on the rock stairs from the back patio into the garden at her place in ID. Not having an appropriate gun she called a neighbor who dispatched it for her. In a moment totally out of character for her, and something she's never even considered doing, she skinned it, cleaned it and is gonna cook it for dinner tonight.
I have to admit I'm pretty impressed. Even though she was Clothed and Only Slightly Apprehensive, still an achievement for her.

I bet she enjoys it, rattlesnake grills well and wears BBQ sauce nicely too.

Thanks, the past month has involved numerous road trips with 99% of them being up to WY.
No photo, but on my drive to work this morning I watched a hawk, silhouetted against the sunrise, with a flapping fish in it's talons.
A Dusky Grouse hen and a couple older chicks visited the woodpile a few feet from the patio. Last time we saw grouse at the house was on the same date, 8-7-2017, and they fed on bird seed on the patio. Very rare.
I also watched a Long-tailed Weasel in the yard yesterday but didn't have the camera handy.

Came across one these doing some dirt work today. No camera handy but did get to show it to a couple minions.
