Two Cooper's Hawks. Looks like an adult and a juvenile but I can't be sure from the resolution. Common predators of urban/suburban birds and their populations are growing while other bird populations are declining. I think Cooper's have taken all our woodpeckers this year. Not good for the forest.
You are correct. The other adult was about 20 feet down the fence. They made a nest in a tree across the street this year and hang out in my back yard.

That's neat. The young are often noisy and entertaining on the nest. Cooper's nest here in the mountains, too.
