El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa is embroiled in accusations of sex with subordinates, abusive treatment of employees and dismantling oversight of the office budget that could stain his 12-year career and sink future prospects for one of the most powerful local Republicans.

Looks like they have emails and texts to back this up. What a shame.

A lot of people respected the Sheriff and if all this is true it's a darn shame because he had potential to be an influential force for conservatives. Can't be a powerful voice for conservatives with baggage like this...

Looks like the Democrat Opposition Research found enough dirt to keep him from running for another office (which I really don't think he was planning on doing anyway).

If you're going to put yourself in the public eye you really should keep it in your pants.
