DO NOT mention you were thinking about bringing your dog. That's a dis-qualifier, once they are aware of it. IF you rent factor in 1-2 days ahead of time on road and same upon return, for loading, unloading & cleaning. An affordable 26' can be found, in North Denver / off Quebec.

For Tricavscout, call the camper place on prospect, just east of 25.
Yeah that was my problem, something the honda Pilot can tow is already booked out at the smaller mom and pop places, the bigger venues were insane with their prices and wanted you to book for more time than we were going

We are still going but convinced my wife that the logistics of bringing her parents along shot everything through the roof. so we are going to try and move the trip up to mid july instead, and then take her parents somewhere more local to CO.

We are spending a day and a half at Devils tower and a day at Mt Rushmore. What is funny my boys are REALLY excited to go to Mt Rushmore and not sure why?

I just went to Black Hills last fall. Mt Rushmore was actually maybe the least cool thing we did. It's kind of like "yep, seen it, what's next?"

This was one of the cooler things: https://www.nps.gov/mimi/index.htm (Minuteman missile site national historic site). There's also a aviation museum out this way that we didn't go to but want to.

Wind Cave was very cool. Jewel cave is now on our list of things to do.

this looks really cool and we're going to go try this at some point: http://www.1880train.com/

this is really cool: http://mammothsite.com/ doesn't take long, and it's amazing I've actually been to this before and yet I would go again.

Devil's tower is of course amazing.

get it home and back on the market before 7/30 - first week in Aug. If you loose $1 - 500 i'd be surprised. We have Never lost money on a pull behind, never. If anything You could come out $500 richer.

There's a few specific items to look at to see how well they maintained it. The real tell is look under it. If the black material is torn, water damaged or looks funky look elsewhere. The torn material could be from off road, that's not a problem. If it looks torn but not from road damage. There could be small critters nesting there off season.

Did they winterize it, did they drain some water from the heater, does there look like serious water stains along the water lines? Most important around the sink and water heater, feel the floor. Is it solid or not.

Any ad that says they replaced the flooring..................serious water leaks.

I rented from Colorado Camper Renter last summer. They ARE pet friendly and staff was great. I would highly recommend them. Had a great time in one of the RPods over a long weekend.
