Default Anyone with experience bead blasting firearms?

I am redoing a pistol that I Duracoated about 3 years ago. Duracoat held up great and I have no issues with it but now I am changing schemes on it. Anyone have experience with a kit and bead blasting a finish off and/or, can recommend someone in the Denver/Centennial area that can do that prep work?

I've bead blasted several handguns and a few stainless barrels that I thought were a bit too shiny for my taste. It's not a difficult or lengthy process if you have access to the equipment. Critical areas that you don't want blasted get avoided or masked off with electrical tape. I've also had good luck plugging bores and chambers with ear plugs.

I'd help you out but honestly just don't have the time.

Bead blasting is usually too fine for a coating to stick well (leaves it nearly polished). So you'd have to prep the material again. Soda is even worse. Crushed glass or sand will strip and leave it ready for the new coating. Crushed glass is more forgiving than sand but requires better and more costly equipment.

We can do it. As mentioned you need a more aggressive media than glass bead. The CeraKote likes a bit more "tooth" to hang on to plus the beads will take forever to blow the CKote off.

Thx Bert! Might have to come visit you again (You cut/threaded/crowned and pinned my barrel a few years ago).
