    Default Hello again...

Was a member and have not signed on in the last 2 years and finally remembered by old email and password so here i am again.

Was born and raised in CA but spend 8 years in CO before i left back to CA a couple years ago. This place is home but i missed CO and started hating CA so i'm moving back in a few months. So hello again to all and if anyone remembers me, hello again to you as well.

Might as well post here but im looking into moving to CO Springs ( Briargate ). Can anyone tell me if this place is a safe community, as well as how the school district is generally in this area? much appreciated.

    Thanks.
    Chris

Welcome back to the site, band to the Springs once you get here.
As far as Briargate and surroundings I have no clue, one of the other Springer's could fill you in more.
    Enjoy!!

    Welcome back.

If you go to Zillow, you can look up the zip code and enable their map to show info on schools, etc. The icon to click is the graduation cap.

Trulia.com has both crime and school stats. Crime is shown with a heat map. Again, just enter the zip and you can see. Trulia's user interface is friendlier and has more info -- whether that info is accurate, I dunno.

Briargate is a safe area. The only exceptions are close to retail / gas stations, mostly around Union or Academy. Check the heat map on Trulia if you're concerned.

District 20 has the best reputation re: schools. I'm pretty sure all of Briargate falls within District 20. Parts of District 11 (just south of 20) are good too. There is more to a good school than just test scores.

Thanks. Trulia helped a lot, never new that existed. I've been on home scouting this whole time since Zillow and trulia is not as up to date. Still debating about commuting or living in the springs, I'm flying down next month so guess I'll just decide then.
