All this comparison to female genitalia is misguided and wrong headed. Every woman I know is much tougher than Gersh Kuntzman. Most of them would laugh if they heard or read anyone describe the felt recoil of an AR as described by Kuntzman.
It is not the sex that determines toughness.
If an AR "bruised his shoulder", I wonder what my Marlin 1895 in .45-70 would do? Knock him through a time warp? FFS...

Single shot, bolt action, 12 gage shooting 1 oz. slugs always provide a good recoil session.
I don't want to click the clickbait story. Kuntzman is welcome to his opinion, but I find his opinion as provided in this thread to be worthless. I also recall the first day in the bleachers as the lead Drill Sgt. dumped a 20 round magazine, full auto, with the butt of the rifle firmly planted in his groin. I know the point he was trying to make, but it seemed like a terrible waste of good ammunition as there is no way he could accurately fire the rifle from that position. Later I came to believe that he may have derived a certain amount of physical pleasure from the sensation and public display. That particular Drill Sgt. was a bit twisted in a few different ways.
First 4 letters of last name is......appropriate.
The most important thing to be learned from those who demand "Equality For All" is that all are not equal...
