When your Squad is on duty yeah it's pretty much the most mind numbingly boring thing in the world...except for being a regular Guard Force Marine. The schedules were pretty relaxed when I was in and aside from some minor incidents nothing happened that required the actual use of force.
But the weeks off, ranges, PT, and the comraderie with your team mates were both unsurpassed and unequaled anywhere else I have been.
