I don't understand why they are letting people go out and get food and sleeping bags and come back in. If it is a sit in then they can stay there, if someone walks out they are not allowed back in and no one else gets in until this pout ends.

As near as I can tell, the only difference between this event and any other day in the session is them sitting on the floor, instead of at their desks. A bunch of entitled, disconnected politicians posturing for the cameras while accomplishing nothing and ignoring the will of their constituents. Business as usual.

They should be treated just like Finicum and the rest of the occupiers at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. They are preventing government employees from doing their job and should be imprisoned with the same charges. When the leaders leave the sanctuary of Congress, they should be ambushed and shot in the back by federal law enforcement just like Finicum.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

a bunch of cry babies. Let them throw their little tantrum and eventually they'll come to realize that it does little good to kick and scream for no good reason.

Dear idiot "journalists" doing pieces on citing how public opinion is overwhelmingly against anyone owning a gun:

The very purpose of a Bill of Rights was to withdraw certain subjects from the vicissitudes of political controversy, to place them beyond the reach of majorities and officials and to establish them as legal principles to be applied by the courts...fundamental rights may not be submitted to a vote; they depend on the outcome of no elections.

-- Robert H. Jaskson, SCOTUS, West Virginia Bd. of Ed. v. Barnette

    and just to be clear:

“It is clear that the Framers and ratifiers of the Fourteenth Amendment counted the right to keep and bear arms among those fundamental rights necessary to our system of ordered liberty”

-- Samuel Alito, SCOTUS, McDonald v. City of Chicago

What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?
-- Ayn Rand, Anthem (Chapter 11)

Uh...the House is in recess for the Independence Day break.
