Default Would any one recommend a Vortex strike eagle

Would any one suggest buying a vortex strike eagle a friend asked me if they are any good since I have mostly vortex optics, but this is one I don't have yet I have been considering one for an ar10 if I decide to build one in the future. So far I have not had any issues with vortex other than ones I caused my self by dropping my rifle. Some of the reviews I read said it's slightly better than the crossfire 1-4.

I don't believe that the Crossfire reticle is anything you'd like.

I'm not really looking for a new scope right now. I was just asking for a friend. I don't have anything I can put a new scope on right now. I think he was looking under 400$. I suggested the vortex viper 1-4 he seems to like the strike eagle.

You can find thourough reviews and comparisons on the Brian Enos forum. All the 3gun kids hang there and they compared the eagle to various optics

I'm running it on my 18" Noveske at the monthly Pueblo tactical match. I'm looking at getting a second one. Problem is we can't keep them in stock. We have some right now, but a month or two and we will be out again. I bring my rifle in to work for people to see the Strike Eagle on a gun. The 1-4 Viper PST is better glass, but a more complicated reticle. The Strike Eagle is a fixed drop reticle set for a basic 16" barrel with 55/62gr ammo. It's less exact, but once you know your drops with your preferred ammo it's much faster to use.

You can swing by Bowers if you want to see one.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Can't beat the versatility of a 1-6x and the Strike Eagle is in a real sweet spot as far as pricing goes. Don't forget to add in the cost of a decent mount too. He may be able to remain sub $400 total with an Aero Precision mount. I really like mine.
