    Default Shelby American Museum

figuring that many gun people also tend to be car people, did you know that we have a world class Shelby museum right here in Boulder? I'm a Colorado native, hell I worked literally 2 blocks away for 6 years, and I have never been, honestly didn't even know it existed. Fixed that mistake yesterday.

It's in Boulder in the Gunbarrel part, basically off 63rd and the Diagonal.(119). $5/person, open on saturdays from 10-4.

some pictures on an album (too big to work well here and I'm too lazy to edit them)

Some very cool stuff. That little building is certainly worth some big bucks inside. many of them are still run at historic racing stuff.

Take a minute and go check the museum out.

They were at the Concours show at Arapahoe Community College last month with a few wonderful cars, giving away a 2016 Shelby Mustang in December-yeah I got suckered in to buying a ticket LOL. One of the stops I'll be making while on vacation. Also hitting the Clive Cussler Automotive Museum in Arvada and the Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Museum in the Springs (I guess it's at Pike's Peak HD).

I had no idea. I've been to the factory in Vegas a number of times- and even got to sit in Carol Shelby's own Series 1. I'll be sure to check the CO one out, thanks for the heads up!

Never even knew that was there, thanks for the post. I've been a mustang guy all my life, dream car is a 68 Gt500kr. I have a few days off around the 4th so I will be heading up there.

    Cussler Museum:

Supposedly many of the vehicles featured in his books are in this museum-he grew up in Arvada and has the museum there open Memorial Day-Labor Day. Haven't been yet so looking forward to hitting all 3 of the ones I mentioned.

My first car was a '66 Mustang with a 289 and a lot of Shelby go-fast parts (Cobra intake manifold, tri-y headers, etc.). I dreamed it was a GT350R back in the day... But it was hard to pull that off with a C-4 transmission. Probably why every car I have bought since then has been a manual to make up for that POS C4. Will definitely need to check this museum out next time I am up that way! The wife likes to take all her relatives to the Celestial Season's plant up that way when they visit (God only knows why) so this will give me and the male relatives someplace to go other than the Western Art museum next time.

    Thanks for the heads-up!

And had no idea about the Cussler museum either, will have to check that out too. It's been a while since I read a Clive Cussler book, maybe will have to take that up again.
