I've got a 1943 Remington M1903A3 that I got from another member here. Shot it quite a bit, but never really took it out by itself and made friends with it. Did that Sunday.

Considering I'm 60 and been nearsighted with glasses since 10, and it's a 73 year old battle rifle with iron sights (and a damn skinny front blade!), I think us old farts did OK. Beat the hell out of my 8" gong too.

100 yards. 150gr FMJ's, handloads replicating .30-06 M2 ball.

That's minute of elk heart right there. I have eyesight challenges with the Garands and have considered adding a rail for a scout scope mounting--better than the old offset mounts.

I have one of those for my Garand, it works great! But I took it off until I can afford a good quality scope for it, and I like the walnut handguard better. But I have no trouble with my Garand sights either.
