    Seriously. A bag full of fireworks or all sorts, some "punks" and we were off on an evening of fun and adventure. Can't believe I still have all my fingers.

    Oh...and we didn't even wear helmets back then.
    ^this! We used to get a few gross of M80's and a few gross of quartersticks every year (in addition to the standard firecrackers, arial stuff, etc.)

    The M80's went great with a cigar and a slingshot (which as a 10 year old was awesome but would totally freak me out now), and the quartersticks (and occational halfsticks) were great for rodent control, fishing, backyard excavation, etc...

    I miss setting off my own stuff, but I have nowhere safe enough to do it and it's just not worth the risk, considering that there are some pretty good professional shows around town...
