    Default Battlefield 1

I don't really game because of lack of time and lack of a decent computer, but I still like to keep up with the news because I find the constant evolutions towards graphic realism to be amazing. However, search revealed threads for Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, so why not have one for the upcoming BF 1 (set in World War 1 where everyone somehow has an SMG/wunderwaffen with thermal imaging garbage).

Personally, I think the gameplay seems like more recycled spam-fest, but damn if the graphics don't look amazing. I think the marketing is also fairly interesting with all of the junk they create to sell the game, even if it means they seemingly skimp on the "game" itself.

The absurdly priced ($189-220) collector's edition contains this statuette (14" tall):

OK, that thing is awesome. The two weapons can also be changed out for other lil toys haha. If I had a lot more disposable income, I'd shamedly buy it and put the damned statue in a rumpus room (if I had a rumpus room).

I thought the same thing. As a previous battlefield player (even playing the horrible BF:Hardline) I was excited although skeptical about them making a game set during World War One. After watching the videos online it seems like it is super fast paced and SMG's everywhere. I'll probably end up buying it because of the lack of any other FPS games, but I don't know how good or bad it will be.

Titanfall 2 comes out between the release dates for BF1 and the new COD. I'm hopeful for that game but not holding my breath, as the gameplay footage looks meh.

I don't buy anything from either the COD or BF franchise anymore... after the decidedly horrible games they've put out for the last few.

In alpha, it's generally fun but does need some work. One thing which is both cool and frustrating, the weather effects really can change the whole game. Dense fog = "Lol you can't see!" :P

(I DO like that they brought back flack guns! Woo! I've missed those since BF1942)
