My BOB is simple. If I leave it will be to travel to a relatives house, I'm not much for heading into the wild with a baby.

    1-can of formula
    1- bag of diapers
    4- 12oz bottles
    4- gallons of water
    1- hand crank radio
    1- hand crank lantern
    1- pistol
    2- boxes of ammo
Enough cash to pay inflated gas prices
    1- large atlas
    1- first aid kit
    1- flashlight
10 cans of various food, I rotate it with the pantry food so it's always changing.
    2- sleeping bags
    1- propane stove
    2- small propane cans
    matches
    candles

I figure this will cover us if we need to move fast due to weather or blakouts. Oh the joy of above ground utilities, someday I'll break down and buy a generator.

Grab pack and the AR-15 with rounds and a jacket or what ever depending on the season. The Jeep has a ton of other survival crap in it that stays 24/7 including sleeping bag, tools, more fire starting crap, food and water.

And a partridge in a pear tree

And it all fits in this... and weighs in at 57 pounds. Not bad considering I'm used to about 100lbs.

For anyone contemplating disaster preparedness, this - http://www.theplacewithnoname.com/bl...ons/index.html - is a fantastic website.

This guy went through Katrina and it's a VERY comprehensive lessons learned/after-action-report. It's lengthy with tons of recommendations and information so if you like it, bookmark it and read a little at a time.

That's more of my get the hell outta dodge bag, my BOB is just the quick temporary fix, but I agree, my 65 pound "heavy" BOB is better than the 100+ that I carried in the Army .

The way I see it... you can NEVER over prepare.

If SHTF then I'm going to be ready. Still need to go through my shit and add/remove some crap.

Yeah, slightly different setup but pretty much same game-plan.
I'm not fat, I'm tactically padded.

Quote from the movie Look Who's Talking Too
Stuart: You guys make me laugh. You're really funny. You stock up your cabinets with bottled water and flashlights, well what do you think is going to happen when the shit really hits the fan? You know like earthquakes and flash floods just a lot of chaos and horror, people dying in the streets and you're sitting here nice and pretty with your bottled water. Now the guy next door has got one of these
