What the people of Pueblo did was organize, gather signatures and money and successfully had a recall election. Angela Giron was given the boot! Colorado Springs did the same thing with John Morse.

Don't conform. Bushmasterboy already pointed out a bunch of ways to nonviolently uphold your rights. But I also say don't conform. We know that Constitutional Case Law supports your right to own AR 15 style rifles among others. And we know that laws are passed by a specific body of people and not one person. I would also say we should express our rights through our representatives to challenge things like that.

All true, but then you get appellate court decisions like Friedman vs Highland Park or the CT/NY upheld bans.

Friedman v Highland Park:

" If a ban on semiautomatic guns and large-capacity magazines reduces the perceived risk from a mass shooting, and makes the public feel safer as a result, that's a substantial benefit. Cf. Frank v. Walker, 768 F.3d 744, 751 (7th Cir.2014)."

CT/NY bans upheld:

"Inthe absence of clearer guidance from the Supreme Court or stronger evidence inthe record, we follow the approach taken by the District Courts and by the D.C.Circuit in Heller II and assume for the sake of argument that these“commonly used” weapons and magazines are also “typically possessed by law‐abiding citizens for lawful purposes. In short,we proceed on the assumption that these laws ban weapons protected by theSecond Amendment."
