    I have central air, but it still gets pretty warm upstairs. One day I need to have an attic fan installed, but until then I've considered making/using one of these for my bedroom.

    I made one of those bucket swamp coolers. It's okay. A pipe on the top to direct the air would be better.

    My house is the same way. Four levels. The bottom one is cool enough to hang meat and the uppermost level will be nearly 80 degrees on a hot day. An attic fan has been on my "to do" list for a while.
