You want hot ? I spent the week in the intersections of the 58th. Ave. & 1-25 jacking up traffic all week....
Try working on or next to asphalt breathing exhaust fumes all day if you want hot.

Could have sworn that some neck beard pointed a small handgun at me as he drove by, damn near, Drew & fired, except that his hand and object wasin front of his passengers face and wasn't 100% positive it was a firearm in his hand......

I have central air, but it still gets pretty warm upstairs. One day I need to have an attic fan installed, but until then I've considered making/using one of these for my bedroom.

I've seen the same basic idea done as a swamp cooler (no ice, just water). I'm sure not as efficient as ice, but if you don't have access to ice, it might be nice to have.

The thread title reminded me of this clip from the movie Biloxi Blues

I made one of those bucket swamp coolers. It's okay. A pipe on the top to direct the air would be better.

My house is the same way. Four levels. The bottom one is cool enough to hang meat and the uppermost level will be nearly 80 degrees on a hot day. An attic fan has been on my "to do" list for a while.

I left Arizona in '84 partially to get away from the opressive heat, stayed here long enough for it to arrive LOL. In '08 I put a new furnace in my house, too stupid (cheap) to add a/c at that time, damn.

Aren't we the same guys that make fun of global warming??!! Hahaha, go easy just kidding.

It was nice camping the last 4 nights. Overnight actually got a little cold, I'd say it got down to the high 30s. Don't even know how it it was down in town.

    Default No Beer!

It was kinda hot in Biloxi. I used to hitch hike to Little Rock and back on weekends. Things have really changed since 1977. This is what Valerie Jarrett has to say about the heat...
