Walking through the parking lot this morning, I could tell who either doesn't have a garage or uses it for storage rather than its intended purpose.

Make sure the roofing folks note any damage to anything outside -- deck all dinged? note. Patio furniture messed up? note. etc. The insurance company will be obligated to pay for that. However, if you simply pocket the money and it happens again, you don't get to claim that in the future.

DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING OR PAY ANYTHING TO HAVE YOUR ROOF INSPECTED. DO NOT PAY ANYTHING UP FRONT WHEN GETTING YOUR ROOF REPLACED.

After the Highlands Ranch storm, some shady contractor was having people sign a "release" granting them permission to get up on the roof to inspect. It was really a contract people were signing that had stuff like a 50% restocking fee for cancellations and other garbage. When you've chosen your contractor is okay to sign a contact, but you should not do so just to have someone inspect your roof.

Not all roofers do other things besides roofs, but there are many, many companies that say they do everything now. The adjusters will inspect the entire property and don't need help from roof sales people to find damage. However, those roof sales people make more money with the more damage they find, so it is unlikely that any collateral damage will be missed between the two people looking at your property.

I only know what the guy who trained me on roofing repair sales does, which is a comprehensive inspection of the entire property, pre-adjuster's inspection. He didn't repair anything but the roof, though, and if the homeowner wanted the work done he would point them to contractors he trusted for that work.

    Sounds about right.

Here are some hail maps to give everyone an idea of where the big hail was.

This is what I love about living in Pleasant Valley ... Just about every time I hear about severe weather hitting The Springs it seems to have passed us by.

Of course now I've jinxed it haven't I?

We were right smack dab in the middle of the Littleton storm, hoping my car didn't take too much of a beating.

Are those measurement the amount of hail that accumulated or the size of the hailstones? If it's the latter, holy damn...

The size of the hailstone. Accumulation doesn't really mean anything.

I know the Stetson Hills area got some 2"+ hail. Ruined a lot of my friend's stuff.

From a friend's post (about halfway between Stetson Hills and Falcon):
