Chaffee County is getting hit bad also. I grew up here and it is not even close to what it used to be. Tons of people everyday in Salida and BV. Lots of drugs now to, Colorado is turning in to east cali. Just wait until prop 69 gets passed by all the useful idiots here now.

I'm not that old, but Ned is deep in my family roots. Have had a cabin there since 1953. When my family came to Colorado from Italy they established a lumber camp in Toland. Still own the land. Ned was a major part of my childhood. Back when the rock shop was a dinky grocery store. The town has changed a LOT. And not for the better.
A few weeks ago I had lunch at The Last Shot down toward central city. Pretty dang fast burger and the lady that served us was really fun and nice.
Whistlers is now Ned's and is owned by the original owners. It rocks!

I eat the hell out of gluten. In fact, it is the major staple of my vegetarian diet.
Having said that, my wife stumbled on a home-made gluten free vegan pizza (yeah, I know) recipe using Udi's crusts from King Sooper...and it is one of my favorite meals ever. I'll confess to that. But when I go out for pizza, I go out for (real, regular) pizza.

Great thread. I enjoyed the rants.
