    Default New in Woodland Park

or more precisely halfway between Woodland Park and Divide.

Mudwife and I have moved here form St Louis and the hometown forum on ar15.com pointed us here for the local news. Great response so far from some very helpful people.

We both shoot, kayak, mtm bike, ski, snowboard, off road, ride motorcycles both street and the good kind (dual sport and dirt) I loves me some good long dual sport rides, so this seems to be the place. Ok we have to work too but the drive to Co Springs isn't the worst I have ever had.

We look forward to getting to meet peoples here and generally enjoy the surroundings.

Cool! Welcome! Maybe get together for a ride sometime? Haveta be on the pavement, though. But there are lots of nice places to go in CO so you shouldn't be too disappointed!

As a matter of fact, the IMHS (InterMountain Humane Society) DogGone Poker Run is coming up. Should be lots of fun and it's for a good cause.

will you and the Mudwife adopt me?

Welcome to the forum. If jobs weren't so far away from Divide/W.P. we would be out there in a heartbeat.

What part of St. Louis did you live in? I'm from MO originally myself and then lived in O'Fallon, IL for 10 years.

After some of the drives I've had through the St. Louis metro area during morning and evening rush hour, I'm sure you'll NEVER see anything here in CO (even Denver) as bad as that.

Actually we do hunt. I have my trusty Marlin 3030 for deer and other. While living along the Missouri and Mississippi rivers I known to hunt a duck or two. Not to mention pheasant and other tasty fowl when given the opportunity.Gwen is rather short of arm and hunts small deer and other varmints with her AR. She is the fisherperson of the two of us. Yeah I know she has an AR and I don't. Fortunately she shares.

One of the things on our list of todo's for today is find out the hunting seasons and licensing for this fine state. Followed by stopping by to see the sheriff to get out CCW's moved here from Mo.

We lived in Eureka. Great growing town till last fall and has now been devastated by the economy. Truth is I don't see Stl coming back anytime soon. Too many big companies have moved out and there is nothing to drive growth or a comeback. That was one of the big reasons we headed out here.

Gwen went for a run this morning and not 100yds from the house saw a fully antlered elk (huge rack she says) He looked at her and trotted off. Not in any particular hurry. We have seen two fox within five feet. May have been the same one but he stood next to the car last night while we took his picture and Gwen saw him or another on her run. He kinda gave her a look and casually trotted off.

Thanks for all the information and GO CARDS!!!!
