    Your bait must not be very enticing. None of those critters looked smarter than the trap, except for the cat maybe.

    Take your bait and put it into a wire box that you can secure to the top, back of your trap. The animal will have to go all the way into the trap, and will trip the door while they're tying to figure out why they can't just pull the bait off the ceiling.

    Ive done that but secured to the bottom, I will try the top as well.

    I have caught two skunks so thankfully my bait worked on the primary animal I was concerned with. Now I need to figure out something the raccoons are more interested in and figure out if I need a larger trap to get them to go inside.

    No I mean that small game season for spotted and striped skunks starts on Nov 1st. I have one in mind that I'm considering hunting after that date. I wonder how much a full mount on a skunk would cost.

    Understood, I REALLY hate to admit it but that had not even crossed my mind, I will have to look into it.
