Take your bait and put it into a wire box that you can secure to the top, back of your trap. The animal will have to go all the way into the trap, and will trip the door while they're tying to figure out why they can't just pull the bait off the ceiling.Originally Posted by Tim K

I have caught two skunks so thankfully my bait worked on the primary animal I was concerned with. Now I need to figure out something the raccoons are more interested in and figure out if I need a larger trap to get them to go inside.
Thankfully the skunks have been both stupid and interested.
So you are saying i am lucky to be getting rid of them now?

No I mean that small game season for spotted and striped skunks starts on Nov 1st. I have one in mind that I'm considering hunting after that date. I wonder how much a full mount on a skunk would cost.
Understood, I REALLY hate to admit it but that had not even crossed my mind, I will have to look into it.
