Default are there any good nation wide banks?

I've got to fire wells fargo.
US bank, Chase, Tcf, 1st bank, i've tried already.

As much as I like local credit unions they don't have the accessibility I need.

A good credit union should have national networking/branch sharing.

The only thing banks are useful for is to be pointed at while laughing.

IMHO, no, all big banks are essentially the same post 2007.

I just called Wells to confirm they hadn't opened any secret accounts on me. The fraud was mostly in CA and all on the personal banking side (not business). All of my accounts were known and in good shape.

I stopped using their credit cards and now use a Citi 2% MC. It's pretty awesome. One of the strangest cc issues I've ever had was with Wells. And now they cancelled MCs which sucks for Sams Club.

The only reason I keep Wells around are the retail locations (been a customer since 1994 as Norwest). They really suck for savings (rates). Even tried to re-fi once and it was a joke (something like 1.5% higher than Bankrate offers with higher costs).

If you are current or former military or have a relative (parent, aunt/uncle, grandparent) who was, USAA works nationally.

For USAA banking and investments, no military connection needed. Only for insurance products.

    Exactly.

I have both, and have had zero trouble. No local, so you cant deposit cash, but I dont have that often anyway. Deposit checks from my cell.

USAA would be my first choice. If not them I'd probably go with Bank of America.

I have USAA and FirstBank with FB as my primary.

f*ck BOA with an ebola drenched cactus. They have fked over so many people it's criminal.

I've had no issues whatsoever with USB.

I guess if I had a complaint, it would be no free ATM outside their network, at least not with my free account.

If you want a credit union with great rates (savings and loans) and has nationwide brick & mortar locations, Navy Federal is pretty good.
