    Smile Hello from Michigan

    Hello,
I will be visiting some relatives in the Grand Junction area soon and would like to try some long range shooting. I've contacted the BLM Field Office concerning the 27 1/4 Mile range and the range near 32 Road, just south of the Colorado River, but they didn't seem to know too much about either one.

What I'd like to know is; are the distances marked? and are there any target holders, or will I need to make my own?

Unfortunately, we don't have very many wide open spaces in my part of the world, so I'm very interested to try out my SIG SSG 3000 at 300 yards+.

I appreciate whatever assistance/good advice you can give.

    Welcome, join the fray.

I grew up on the western slope but am not familiar with either of those ranges.

Hopefully a couple of our GJ/Mesa county members will be along shortly.

Check around in New Member forum, another new member from GJ area asked about similar info recently l.

    Papamuc, Welcome to the forum.
I can't help you with Colorado but the Isoco Co. Sportsmans Club in Oscoda, MI has a 600 yard range.

Thanks for all of the replies. I visited the Grand Junction BLM Range and found that not only does this range have range markers it also has lots of friendly and helpful shooters! I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the beautiful Grand Junction area!
