Well said. I don't agree with his stance or his way of conveying his stance (or kneelnce?), but I will defend his right to say it. That being said, everyone is free to share their opinion about him and his stance as well.

I was disappointed when I saw him kneeling during the national anthem. He makes more money in a year than I will see in a lifetime of serving the people of this country. How is he oppressed?

The last time I spent money on a professional sports team was a Rockies game in 2003.

Fuck allah those guys. The NFL hasn't seen a dime of my money since...maybe the 80s? And they won't ever see any.

It's going to keep happening, more of these clowns will do it just to get attention and watch themselves on the stadium big screen. Bunch of rich, clueless punks.

Wait till it starts happening at your local HS games!

They are not saying that they as individuals are oppressed. They are dating that oppression happens and they want it to change and people to talk about it in order to stop it. However none of this will do anything to bring about change because they are not doing it the right way.

As an employee, this may not be a First Amendment issue. Anyone of us here can test that out quite easily and report back.

The "oh noes, I'm oppressed" coming from multi-millionaires needs to be confronted and if the NFL wasn't politicized they would have done this immediately. If it results in fewer people watching (bread and circuses) who start paying attention to real world events, then I'm happy.

    So let's follow the logic...

Minorities are victims of systematic and pervasive oppression.

The millionaire cry babies are minorities.

    ???

There has never been more opportunity for "minorities" anywhere in the world then there is the US right now. If this isn't good enough because we won't give certain people the space to destroy then they should be honest and say that. My belief is nothing will ever be good enough as long as there's a race baiter looking for a paycheck or to win an election.

I really don't think that this is as big of a deal that it is made out to be. I could care less if anybody stands for our national anthem. If it is really that big of a deal then how come nobody cares that most people singing the anthem add their own interpretation of it? I have more or a problem with that, but even then it doesn't really matter. I get way more upset that the department of defense PAYS the NFL for the "Salute to Service" crap that they put on.

Him kneeling had done exactly what it was intended to do, make people talk about it. Even if it is be used you disagree with why he did.

I agree with those that say he is free to express his opinion. You are either for freedom or you are not, even if it pisses you off.
