Default Help help help Pinned stock removal

Any one know how to remove a pinned stock or have a link to a video? I was thinking drill above the pin and tap it out. I'm just concerned about hitting the buffer tube. the rifle is a m&p 15 sport. a friend picked it up at Buckley so everything on it is basically ca compliant, pinned stock no muzzle break. the only difference is he has the standard mag release button. he has been trying to figure it out I wanted to ask before we dive in and remove it my way.

I always thought it was pinned with a roll pin.
